From lollipops magazine; use a partially inflated balloon to make circular inprints to create a snowman. Blow up balloon part way, and knot the end. Dip the balloon into a pan of white poster paint. Press the ballloon down all the way onto dark construction paper to make the largest circle. Again dip in paint apply less pressure to the balloon to make the middle sized one and small circle on the paper. After the children have constructed their snowmen with three circles, have them glue on art materials for facial features, hat,scarf, and arms. Don't forget frostys broomstick too! they are cute! *********************************************************************** CREATIVE FUN WITH BALLS OR BALLOONS WHAT YOU NEED: a.. Soft "Nerf"- type balls b.. Balloons (an adult should blow these up ... but not too full) c.. Containers for paint (large bowls or styrofoam trays are great). d.. Water for clean-up. e.. Tempera or other water-based paint in the primary colors (red, yellow and blue). f.. Paint smocks or old shirts. g.. A newspaper covered area or the great outdoors. h.. Large pieces of paper (rolls of craft paper will come in very handy for this and other activities with little ones). WHAT YOU DO: a.. Place the primary colors in separate containers. b.. Little ones can dip the balloons or soft foam balls into the paint and smoosh down on a piece of paper. c.. Encourage color mixing on the paper by adding different colored smooshes on the paper. d.. This is an excellent outdoor activity for large groups. e..
